BED Electrical Launches “The BED BIG Distance Challenge” to Support Local Charities
BED Electrical is proud to announce the launch of The BED Big Distance Challenge. A company-wide charity initiative aimed at supporting local charities across the communities we serve.
Running throughout the World Cup season, 11th June to 19th July, teams from across all BED Electrical branches and head office will work together to cover the distance from Corby to New York (that’s an incredible 5,723 kilometres!), finishing where the World Cup Final will take place.
The Challenge
Over the course of six weeks, employees across the business will take part by walking, running, cycling, or rowing to collectively reach the target distance.
The challenge includes:
- 5,723 kilometres in 6 weeks
- Every participating team member completing at least 5K per day on average to reach our goal.
- Activities including walking, running, cycling, and rowing. Basically, however they can cover the distance without the help of motorised vehicles.
This is a true company-wide effort, with branches joining together to support 6 charitable causes that matter to their local communities. You can find out more about our chosen charities here.
Supporting Our Communities in the East Midlands
At BED Electrical, supporting the communities we operate in is an important part of who we are. The BED BIG Distance Challenge has been created to bring colleagues together, encourage teamwork, and raise valuable funds for local charities making a difference in people’s lives.
By taking on this challenge together, our teams hope to make a meaningful impact while promoting health, well-being, and community spirit across the business.
Follow the Journey
Throughout the challenge, we’ll be sharing updates from our branches, progress milestones, fundraising activities, and ways for customers, suppliers, and local communities to support the teams involved.
We look forward to sharing the journey and thanking everyone who helps us support these fantastic causes.
Please head into your local branch to find out how you can support our staff during this challenge!
